Indoor Agility ‘Spy’ Training!!

Indoor Agility ‘Spy’ Training!!
We had so much fun doing this yesterday afternoon.

Serena had a friend over and this kept them entertained for ages!!

All you need is a hallway (ours had some steps to make it all the more challenging!!), some tape and heaps of ribbon.

For the ribbon we used some crape paper that I found in the cupboard and cut them into strips.

Then I sent off the girls to play outside while I set up the agility course but taping the ribbon across the steps and hallway at random angles

The rules were that they weren’t allowed to touch the ribbon ‘electric beam’ or slide along on they tummy

After they mastered this they added some more ribbon to make it impossibly challenging!!

Recycle Jeans – Hanging Storage

Recycle Jeans – Hanging Storage

Want a great way to recycle your old jeans??

This is such simple easy, useful, idea!!

All you need are some old jeans and a sewing machine

The first step was to cut a strip off another pair of old jeans (to make the hanger)

Then straight and zigzag sew the edge

Attach a safety pin onto one side of one end

Now thread it into the tube you sewed, and pulled through so you turn it the right way out

Pin it to the inside back of the jeans

Then sew into place

The next step was to sew the waist band together

Now lay the jeans down flat and mark with pins where you want the bottom of each pocked to be

Then straight sew along the pined lines. Don’t forget to sew the bottom hemline too!!

Using an unpicker, make a small slit where you want the opening of the pocket to be. Make sure you only slit/cut the top layer of denim

Then slip the scissors into slit and cut across for the pocket opening

Repeat the above step for all your pockets

Done

Doesn’t it look good!! - We have ours hanging in the craft room

Decorative Jars

Decorative Jars

These are just so cute. They can be used to store little trinkets or with mine, I’ve used as our happy jar!! Every time someone has an achievement or a happy experience we write it down and place in the jar. At the end of the year we read and reminisce on all the great things that have happened!!

I bought some cheap door knobs off eBay and use some empty jars and some spray paint I found in the shed for this craft

The first step was to spray the lids. Serena wanted her lids to be pink, so I sprayed hers silver then when it dried I sprayed it again pink. That way it was a brighter pink colour

While the lids were drying I used the hacksaw and clamp to shorten the length of the screws

Once the lids were dry, I used a hammer and nail to put a hole into centre of the lids

Now all I had to do was screw the door knobs onto the top of the lids!!
