Marbling

Marbling

We had so much fun making stationary sets by marbling. Was really easy to make with shaving cream and food colouring!!

All you need is shaving cream, food colouring, paper towels, spatula (we used a plastic egg flip), baking tray, plastic ruler, al-foil and of cause paper and envelopes or whatever you would like to marble

After we lined the baking tray with al-foil we covered it in shaving cream

Then kind of smoothed it out with the spatula (egg flip)

Now we drop spots of food colouring all over the shaving cream

Using the handle of the spatula we stired/mixed the colours together

Then placed a piece of paper on top of it all

We pressed it down firmly so the coloured shaving covers it, under the paper

Holding the corner of the paper, we slowly lift it up

Place it onto some laid out paper towels

Now using the plastic ruler we scrapped off the shaving cream in one swipe. From top to bottom

Amazing!! Now let it dry

We followed it up with an envelope so the pattern kind of matches the paper we just did

Once we started we couldn’t stop!! We just kept stirring and printing. After the shaving cream got very murky so we just throw it out, relined the try and started again!!

After the paper was dry we were able to just wipe off the excess shaving cream on the stationary then flattened them under a heavy book!!

Now they are ready to write on!!

‘Roundbow’ Skittles

‘Roundbow’ Skittles

This is more of science experiment than a craft, but still it was pretty cool how it works!!
All you need is a plate, skittles and some water
Place the skittles into a circle around the plate
Now pour some water onto the plate until it goes a little passed the skittles

Sit back and watch

In about 2min you will have a ‘roundbow!!’

Cookies In a Jar

Cookies In a Jar

This is a great gift idea!! Easy to make and fun to eat!!

All you need is – large jar (ours was a big empty coffee bottle), ribbon, chocolate cake mix, mini smarties and mini marshmallows

First step was to empty the dry cake mix into the bottom of the jar

The next step I used a spoon to press and flatten the cake mix

Now I poured in the mini smarties

Followed by the mini marshmallows

YUM

Firmly place the lid on

Now using some ribbon tie a bow around the centre where the cake mix and smarties meet

You will have to write/type out the cooking instruction for the receiver to follow –

Chocolate Cookie Mix (in a jar)

- Beat together 2 EGGS and ½ CUP OIL in a mixing bowl

- Pour in entire contents of jar and stir well

- Chill dough for about an hour in the refrigerator

- Spoon mixture onto non-stick baking tray in rounded ball shapes

- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes in 180°oven

I printed out mine on a piece of folded card and slipped it under the ribbon at the back of the bottle
